• A photograph taken with my Fujifilm X100F looking out from the mountains over San Bernardino.

    Above the Haze

Pulled over on the side of the road to get a picture of life on a mountaintop, above the smog line. San Bernardino is there, underneath that haze, but you wouldn’t know it. I wish I could remember what film preset I had my camera on when I pulled my car onto the shoulder to snap this photograph. Ain’t that the way it goes…

  • This black and white photograph of a baby hiding with her book was taken with the Fujifilm X100F and the Acros Film Preset.

The if I can’t see you, you can’t see me, secret book club. This photograph was taken with my X100F with Acros film preset and no post-processing. Again, a difficult decision between RAW and Acros JPG. Acros wins!

    Angel of the Morning

Today – a morning walk with my husband and a decision to aim for one photo post a day. I took this dappled light gem with my Fujifilm X100F and the Acros film preset and no post-processing. I’ve never been inspired to experiment with black and white photography until seeing what others are doing with the Acros film preset on the X100F. And – now I can’t wait to experiment further. I’ve only just started my love affair with the rad little camera so I am still discovering all it has to offer. I’m hoping this photo-a-day challenge helps me to hone my skills.

  • A photograph of the soda can aisle using the Velvia film preset on my X100F

    Velvia Epiphany

Before I purchases my X100F, I did my typical hours and hours of research. I read so many love letters to Velvia and its saturated colors. I get it now.

    My Box of Photographs

There have been so many times I’ve noticed something. A scene. Some colors. Some shadows. And I’ve ached to capture it. To keep it in my box of photographs. Somehow, the cameras I’ve had in the past have never even come close to capturing these life gems. My new little camera, the Fujifilm X100F, allows me to capture these romantic moments effortlessly. Now, while in search of the restroom at the local bowling alley, I can turn a corner and see a bright red room with colorful lights flashing, and I can take those colors home with me for keeps. Welcome to my box of photographs.
