    Soft Clouds

I’ve been absent from these parts but very present elsewhere. My husband and I have been walking and talking and working a lot lately. It may be time for a big change. A move from the mountain the city. For a Californian, not really THE city, but A city. A pretty one with lots of rain and fewer fires. Until then, I will continue to photograph trees.

    End of Summer

We’ve been worried by this mountain tinder box as of lately. The hot sun, dry air, and fires here and there. And no fire insurance. Life in California. I pointed my camera into the late summer sun and snapped this photograph using the FujiXWeekly Vintage Kodachrome film recipe and my Fujifilm X100F. #filmsimulationchallenge

    Pine Tree

Been busy lately contemplating the importance of fire insurance when one lives amongst the trees in California. And, whether it is a good idea to live amongst those trees in California. This photograph is of the huge pine tree in our backyard, close up, with Acros and my Fujifilm X100F.

    Powdery Blue

Today’s photo walk was an evening stroll down the same mountain roads as always, but the different light somehow made it new. I used FujiXWeekly’s Vintage Kodachrome film recipe and my Fujifilm X100F to take this photograph at dusk. I chose this as my photo of the day because I love the blues and greens created by this recipe. Upon seeing the colors, I promptly saved this as my first saved preset. If you have suggestions how to make my photographs look as crisp after uploading as they do beforehand, please let me know in comments. I am new to posting photography online. #filmsimulationchallenge

    Ol Pieces

I’ve been stuck for pictures lately. Seeing the same things over and over and trying to see them over again in a different way than yesterday. Looking forward to getting down the hill for some more photographs soon.

    Dappled Goats

These cuties posed for a portrait for me today. We walk by them every day, but today they were feeling pretty. Taken with my Fujifilm X100F in RAW.

    The Watcher

The lady of the forest stands watch. On an afternoon forest walk I set my X100F to the Toy Camera advanced filter because I wanted to play. I had never, and still have not, read anything about this filter. Sometimes it’s fun to figure it out outside of the rules.

    Above the Haze

Pulled over on the side of the road to get a picture of life on a mountaintop, above the smog line. San Bernardino is there, underneath that haze, but you wouldn’t know it. I wish I could remember what film preset I had my camera on when I pulled my car onto the shoulder to snap this photograph. Ain’t that the way it goes…
